The Dutch club "Ajax" intends to transfer Takehiro Tomiyasu, the former defender of "Arsenal", who is currently a free agent.
Idman.Biz reports that, according to "Voetbal International", the Japanese footballer became free after leaving the London club in July.
Tomiyasu, who has had serious knee problems in recent years, spent only six minutes on the field for "Arsenal" last season. The defender, who underwent surgery in February, had his contract terminated a few months later by mutual agreement of the parties. This allowed the football player to undergo a special rehabilitation program in his home country.
According to reports, Tomiyasu has made significant progress in the recovery process. However, he needs to work in a club environment to return to full form. The defender does not hide that one of his main goals is to play for the Japanese national team in the 2026 World Cup.
"Ajax" management highly appreciates the player's ability to play on both flanks and his international experience. The club continues to assess the possibilities for the transfer to take place.
It should be noted that the "Qarabag" - "Ajax" match will be held on December 10 at the Tofig Bahramov Republican Stadium and will start at 21:45.
