Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has broken the record for the most goals scored by an African player in the Champions League.
Salah achieved this feat in his team's 4-0 victory over Galatasaray in the round of 16. Salah scored one goal and provided two assists in the game.
The 33-year-old footballer became the first African player to reach 50 goals in the competition.
Earlier, the Liverpool forward surpassed former England international defender Jamie Carragher to become the club's record holder for the most appearances in the Champions League. The Egyptian footballer has played 82 games for the club in the competition.
This season, Salah has played 33 games for Liverpool in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing 10 assists.
