Croatian national team midfielder Luka Modrić will not renew his contract with "Milan" and will leave the club this summer.
İdman.Biz reports this with reference to Tuttosport.
According to the source, the midfielder has already informed the management of the Italian club about his decision. The Croatian specialist wanted to help the team qualify for the Champions League at the end of the season, but "Milan" failed to do so, which led to the dismissal of head coach Massimiliano Allegri, general manager Giorgio Furlani, and sporting director Igli Tare.
Modrić joined "Milan" as a free agent in the summer of 2025. Last season, the midfielder scored two goals and provided three assists in 37 games for "Milan". His contract with the "rossoneri" runs until June 30, 2026.
Modrić previously played for Real Madrid. During his 13 years at Real Madrid, Modrić won the Champions League six times, the Spanish league title four times, and the Copa del Rey twice. The 39-year-old midfielder has also won the Spanish Super Cup, the Club World Cup, and the UEFA Super Cup five times. In 2024, Modrić won the Intercontinental Cup with Real Madrid.
