Former Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has spoken about the club's chances of competing for the English Premier League title in the future. He said that the team is currently moving in the right direction, but refrained from making sharp predictions.
Idman.Biz reports that Carrick commented on Mason Mount's opinion that the team will compete for titles in the near future.
"Winning the Premier League is the ultimate goal and it's a special achievement. A lot of hard work has to go into the players trusting themselves. I hope and believe that it will be possible in the near future. That's exactly where we want to be. Time will tell how close we are to it," said the head coach.
The expert also emphasized the importance of development in the team:
"I'm not going to make any big statements about it. But I think the group's development and the results we've achieved against strong opponents give the players a lot of confidence. We need to keep taking good steps."
