Phil Foden, the midfielder for Manchester City, has been named the best player of the third matchday of the UEFA Champions League league phase.
İdman.Biz reports that the English player was recognized for this award based on the results of a fan vote.
Foden outperformed Comoa’s midfielder Niko Pašić, Liverpool’s footballer Rio Ngomwane, and Napoli’s representative Scott McTominay in the fight for the award.
The 26-year-old midfielder scored a hat-trick and provided one assist in the match against AEK on October 20, which ended with Manchester City’s 5-1 victory.
Foden was also named the best player of that match. He became the third English player to score three goals and provide an assist in a single Champions League match. Previously, Wayne Rooney and Raheem Sterling achieved this feat.
It should be noted that Foden has scored three goals in the Champions League this season.
