Former members of the England national team, Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer, have offered advice to Como's head coach, Cesc Fabregas, in their recent appearance on the 'The Rest is Football' podcast. According to Sport24.az, both renowned former footballers advised Fabregas to turn down an offer from 'Manchester United' (if the club decides to part ways with Michael Carrick).
Lineker: "Fabregas faces a serious decision. If he continues to achieve at least mediocre success at Como, he is guaranteed to receive an offer from a major club. It could even be 'United'. But accepting such a job would be complete madness! It is a real 'cemetery' for managers there."
Shearer: "I know it is a massive football club, but considering how many managers have passed through there so far, it is not an attractive job at the moment. The only real advantage is that when you leave after 12 or 18 months, you are highly likely to walk away with a massive payout."
It should be noted that recent media reports have suggested that 'Manchester United' management wants to part ways with the team's current head coach, Michael Carrick.
