In yesterday's Champions League semi-final match, Bayern drew 1-1 with PSG. Having lost the first match 4-5, the Munich representative said goodbye to the tournament, falling behind in the overall score (5:6). Sport24.az reports that at the press conference held after the match, Bayern's head coach Vincent Kompany harshly criticized the refereeing of the match referee Joao Pinheyro.
The Belgian specialist drew attention to the episode that took place in the 29th minute. He said that opposing defender Nuno Mendes should have been sent off with a second yellow card:
"For me, it was clearly a second yellow and a red card. This decision of the referee directly affected the fate of the match. Such a mistake is unacceptable in such a high-level game."
Kompany was also dissatisfied with other decisions of the referee. He said the following regarding the allegation that Konrad Laimer played with his hand:
"I watched the replays three times. There is not even a single image showing Laimer touching the ball with his hand. He received the ball with his body."
Kompany did not forget to acknowledge the strength of the opponent:
"I never want to diminish PSG's game. They are a very strong team. It's just that our opinions differ on the decisions made in this meeting and these discussions will continue for a long time."
It should be noted that Bayern, who lost 5:6 in the result of two games, had to say goodbye to the Champions League, which is one of the main goals of the season.
