The first round of the 2025/26 season of the Misli Premier League was marked by the debut of two clubs.
Idman.biz reports that the teams founded in 2022 - "Karvan-Yevlax" and "Imishli" - debuted in the top division of the national championship.
Both debutants played their first match at home - at the Shamakhi city stadium. The representative of Yevlax scored 1 point in the match against "Gabala" - 1:1. The club of the same name from Imishli lost to "Turan Tovuz" with a score of 0:1.
Thus, the number of clubs participating in the championship held since 1992 has reached 63. In the previous 33 seasons, 61 teams competed in the top league.
Both teams are the 3rd club of the city they represent. "Lokomotiv" and "MKT-Araz" represented Imishli, and "Avtomobilchi" and "Karvan" represented Yevlax.
