Bayern's English striker Harry Kane is close to winning the "Golden Boot" award this season. Sport24.az reports that the "Golden Boot" award takes into account the difficulty level of the local league.
A player's points are calculated by multiplying their goals in the league by a coefficient assigned to that league: 2 for the strongest leagues (EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga), 1.5 for medium leagues, and 1 for weak leagues. This ensures that goals scored in more competitive leagues carry more weight in the final tournament table.
The top ten players in the European Golden Boot ranking are listed below:
1. Harry Kane (Bayern) — 33 goals x 2 = 66 points
2. Erling Haaland (Manchester City) — 25 x 2 = 50
3. Kylian Mbappe (Real) — 24 x 2 = 48
4. Igor Thiago (Brentford) — 22 x 2 = 44
5. Dion Beljo ("Dinamo", Zagreb) — 29 x 1.5 = 43.5
6. Vedat Muriqi (Mallorca) — 21 x 2 = 42
7. Luis Suarez (Sporting) — 26 x 1.5 = 39
8. Esteban Lepoall (Rennes) — 19 x 2 = 38
