The "Baku Cup" international tournament, dedicated to the memory of the legend of Azerbaijani football, the unforgettable "Number 9" Anatoli Banishevski, organized jointly by "Neftchi" and the Russian club "Dynamo" (Moscow), has started.
"Report" informs that 8 matches were held on the first day of the tournament among football players born in 2015 at the "Palms Sports" Football Center.
"Neftchi", which is in Group B, first faced Voronezh "Dynamo". Although the team opened the score with a goal scored by Salman Salimov, they eventually lost – 1:6. In the second match of the day, the "Black and Whites" lost to "Qarabağ" with a score of 1:4. Salman Salimov again distinguished himself in "Neftchi".
Other matches in Group B ended as follows:
"Qarabağ" – "Göztəpə" 5:5
"Göztəpə" – "Dynamo" (Voronezh) 0:6
In the first matches of Group A, Moscow "Dynamo" won against "Kayrat" 1:0, and "Beşiktaş" won against "Ulduz" 3:1. In the second matches, "Kayrat" won a 2:1 victory over "Ulduz", and "Beşiktaş" and "Dynamo" split the points – 1:1.
In Group A, "Beşiktaş" and "Dynamo" (Moscow), who scored 4 points from 2 matches, share 1st-2nd places. "Kayrat" is 3rd with 3 points, and "Ulduz", who remained without points, is last.
In Group B, "Dynamo" (Voronezh), which showed the maximum result, is the leader with 6 points. "Qarabağ" is 2nd with 4 points, "Göztəpə" is 3rd with 1 point, and "Neftchi" is 4th with 0 points.
The "Black and Whites" will play their last match in the group against "Göztəpə" tomorrow. In addition, "Dynamo" (Voronezh) will compete with "Qarabağ", "Dynamo" (Moscow) with "Ulduz", and "Kayrat" with "Beşiktaş".
Later, the winner of Group A will face the 2nd place of Group B, and the winner of Group B will face the 2nd place of Group A. Those who take 3rd and 4th places in the groups will also compete in the same way.
On the last day of the tournament – March 21, matches for 7th, 5th, 3rd places and the final match will be held. After the decisive meeting, an award ceremony will be organized.
