Team captain Yusif Nabiyev also remained in the squad. We have players with Premier League experience. That is, we are assembling a competitive squad. Our goal is to return to the elite. We are planning to hold 4 friendly matches during the training camp. But the opponents are not yet known."
Mammadov said that they want to strengthen the attacking line: "We have enough players in the defensive line. We want to strengthen the attack with several legionnaires. We want to fill the gaps and become more competitive. The management has created conditions for negotiating with the players I want and can afford to buy. The goal is to form a good team. Rufat Abdullazade will leave the team. His departure has already been agreed. In general, we have parted ways with almost 80 percent of the players who played in the team last season. We have kept the captain and a few more players. Most of them are members of the substitutes who train with the main team. We have put Suleyman Allush, who has a contract with the club, on transfer."
It should be noted that "Sabail" finished the Azerbaijan Premier League last season in 10th place. The team will compete in the I League in the 2025/2026 season.
