Cüneyt Çakır, the head of the Georgian Central Referee Committee, made statements about the World Cup process and the refereeing system in the country where he works.
According to Lent.az, citing foreign media, in addition to expressing his satisfaction with his position, his aged appearance also attracted attention.
Çakır stated that it is a great honor for him to participate in the World Cup as an administrator.
"I am excited to participate in the World Cup as an administrator. For four years, we trained and watched the referees who will referee there. It's nice to bring in new referees," he said.
Çakır emphasized that when they started their position, referees in Georgia could only referee during the summer months, and stated that significant progress had been made after their efforts. Çakır said: "We now have referees who referee in the Champions League and the Europa League. This is a very valuable development for Georgian refereeing."
Expressing his satisfaction with his work in Georgia, Çakır concluded his statement by saying, "I am currently very happy in Georgia. I will do my best while I am here."
