Tottenham's central defender Cristian Romero has decided to leave the club at the end of the current season. The 27-year-old Argentinian has already informed the management that he will leave the team in the summer "transfer window". Sport24.az reports that this was reported by The Telegraph newspaper.
According to the source, Tottenham's management was planning to renew the squad for the new season, and Romero was intended as one of the key figures in the new project. However, it is reported that the Argentinian is firm in his decision.
It should be noted that the Argentinian defender transferred from Atalanta to Tottenham in 2022 for 52 million euros. The defender has appeared in 28 games this season, scored six goals and provided four assists. Romero's current contract with Tottenham runs until 2029.
