"Sabah" striker Coy Lens Mickels has become the 5th footballer to score a hat-trick in European cups while playing for Azerbaijani clubs. Sport24.az reports with reference to the press service of the Professional Football League that the Baku club's footballer achieved this in the return match of the 1st qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League against "Celje" (Slovenia).
The 31-year-old striker managed to score 3 goals against the home team. Before Mickels, 4 footballers had achieved this. Badri Kvaratskhelia and Olavio Juninho stood out in the Champions League, Ernest Nfor and Theo Weeks in the Europa League. Mickels became the author of the 3rd hat-trick in this tournament.
