Founded in 1907, the Italian football club "Como" will make its European debut in three months. This was announced on May 10 after Cesc Fabregas' team entered the top six in Serie A.
According to Lent.az, citing foreign media, 39-year-old Fabregas, a former midfielder for Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona and current head coach of Como, gave his team the chance to play in a European club competition for the first time.
Fabregas' team defeated Verona 1-0 in the 36th round of the Italian Championship on May 10.
This allowed Como to score 65 points and is now guaranteed to enter the European Cup zone from sixth place.
Fabregas' team will not fall below this position, as their followers will not be able to reach them with two games remaining.
But with a successful result, Como can even claim a Serie A medal. They are only three points behind third-placed Juventus.
Thus, the 119-year-old club can qualify for one of three tournaments. The teams that take the first four places in the Italian championship will qualify for the Champions League, the team that takes fifth place will qualify for the Europa League, and the team that takes sixth place will qualify for the Conference League.
It should be reminded that "Inter" won the Italian championship for the 21st time.
