Michael Carrick is awaiting formal talks with "Manchester United" and is one of the main candidates for the head coach position.
Idman.Biz reports this with reference to journalist Ben Jacobs.
"Manchester United" intends to hold discussions with several candidates as part of a thorough selection process. Qualification for the UEFA Champions League will not change this plan.
Several leading players, including Bruno Fernandes, Matheus Cunha, and Harry Maguire, have expressed their desire for Carrick to remain in the position. He is also participating in player selection meetings for the next season. "Manchester United" previously planned to involve Thomas Tuchel in this process, but the England national team coach extended his contract.
Carrick began leading "Manchester United" in January 2026. During this time, the team has played 14 Premier League matches, winning 10 and drawing 2. The club is currently third in the English Premier League table with 64 points from 35 matches.
