Manchester United captain and midfielder Bruno Fernandes has been named the Football Writers' Association (FWA) Footballer of the Year.
Idman.Biz reports that the organization's press service announced this on its X social media page.
Fernandes won the vote conducted by 900 FWA members. The Portuguese midfielder will receive the award at the annual ceremony in London on May 19.
Declan Rice (Arsenal) came in second place, and Erling Haaland (Manchester City) came in third.
Fernandes has made 34 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring eight goals and providing 21 assists. His current contract with the club runs until the summer of 2027. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is 40 million euros.
