Idman.biz reports that Aqil Nabiyev, the head coach of the Azerbaijani national team consisting of football players under 16, told the AFFA Press Service after the second test match (2:1) against the corresponding age group team of Moldova.
Congratulating his players on the victory, the expert said that although it was a test match, it was gratifying to win. The head coach also talked about the players' preparations: "The recovery of a football player is very important. Depending on the organism, there are football players who recover in 48 hours, and some in 72 hours. Taking these into account, we made some changes in the squad. We played dominant football on the field, we created a lot of goal opportunities."
Aqil Nabiyev also revealed the moment he was worried about: "In both meetings, we could not capitalize on the hundred percent episodes we achieved and conceded goals from simple situations. We need to work hard on these. We are also inviting several football players from this team to the U-17 national team. If we can increase the number of training camps and international games, we can achieve a lot with these football players. I believe that we will achieve good results in the CIS Games to be held in our country and in the qualifying matches with our U-17 national team."
The head coach said that he had a better second match compared to the first match, which the team won 3:2: "When we analyzed the first match, we eliminated the obvious gaps. In this match, we had more possession of the ball, and we created enough goal opportunities. As a result of a beautiful game, we won. I believe that successful results will continue."
Nabiyev emphasized that he believes that our U-16 national team will achieve successful results in the III CIS Games to be held in Azerbaijan in September-October: "After we know our opponents, we will collect detailed information about them and analyze them. Our team has the potential to achieve successful results in the CIS Games as well. We just need to trust the children. As I say every time, there are enough promising football players in Azerbaijan. It is necessary to guide the children in the right direction and believe in them."
