Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvares has undergone medical examinations and it has been confirmed that he has not suffered a new injury or aggravated his previous one. The striker requested a substitution in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final against Arsenal (0:1) after injuring his ankle last week.
According to Idman.Biz, citing The Touchline, he is currently in good condition and recovering.
Alvares was substituted in the 66th minute of the match against Arsenal, replaced by forward Alex Baena. The Madrid club suffered a 1-0 defeat and were eliminated from the competition.
Alvares' current contract with Atletico runs until the summer of 2030. This season, the striker has made 49 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 20 goals and providing nine assists.
