At the Reporting Conference of AFFA held today, the president of the organization, Rovshan Najaf, provided extensive information about the future of Azerbaijani football, the problems in the domestic championship, and the planned reforms.
Idman.Biz reports that Rovshan Najaf specifically addressed the refereeing management and infrastructure issues in the Misli Premier League.
The head of AFFA stated that serious steps are being taken to minimize referee errors:
"We are taking measures to eliminate referee errors. Work is underway to reduce them. There are no games without errors, but the main goal of the reforms is to ensure that decisions are as correct as possible."
Speaking about the prospects of the national team, Rovshan Najaf expressed hope that our team will perform in the final stages of major championships. He also emphasized that transparency in the spending of funds allocated to clubs is a key priority:
"Each club submits regular reports on the use of allocated funds. This is monitored by AFFA. The development of children's football and the effective operation of academies are our priorities. If you have any information about the misuse of funds, please let us know, we would be grateful."
The president, who called the infrastructure issue the "most vulnerable point" of football, noted that large investments are required in this area. The main components of the strategy include raising the level of the national championship, enabling clubs to earn additional funds and improve infrastructure, the success of "Qarabag" and other clubs in Europe, the transfer of football players to foreign leagues, as well as the development of women's and school football.
