"The game against "Zaqatala" was tough. The opponent suffered a heavy defeat against Mingachevir away in the previous round." These words were said by Adil Shukurov, the head coach of "Sabail", to Sport24.az.
The experienced specialist shared his thoughts on the game where his team defeated "Zaqatala" in the 25th round of the league:
"That's exactly why they were trying to prove themselves on their home field. Although the opponent had several scoring opportunities at the beginning of the match, we were able to prevent this thanks to the correct game of my players. Throughout the match, we tried not to give the opponent a chance to score. After we scored the third goal, "Zaqatala" accepted the defeat. The end of the game was easier for us. I always note that in the First League, there have been many cases where teams that are expected to be champions in advance face surprise results. We don't want to show the same approach. A lot can change in the next two rounds. It is very difficult to say in advance which team will be second and which will be third."
It should be noted that the "Zaqatala" - "Sabail" match ended with a 0:3 defeat for the home team. Thus, "Sabail" reduced the point difference with the leader "Shafa" to four and settled in second place.
