President of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation, Mahir Mammadov, met with Azerbaijani chess coaches living in Baku, the regions, and abroad.
Idman.biz reports that the main purpose of the meeting was to approve the coaching staff who will be involved in the preparation of national teams in various age categories.
Regional coaches, who participated in the meeting online, spoke about the problems that cause concern in the current situation and made various proposals.
Representatives of the Coaches, Children and Youth, as well as Composition Commissions of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation, provided information about the problems in organizing rated tournaments, the lack of experienced coaches in the regions, and the lack of methodological support.
At the meeting, proposals were heard on using the experience of foreign coaches and on the higher-level training of teenagers who are candidates for the national team. The coaches noted that the "Azerbaijan Chess Tour" project, which was implemented for the first time this year, was successful.
During the meeting, ideas were exchanged on holding seminars with coaches, inviting well-known experts from abroad to Azerbaijan for exchange of experience, organizing online lessons on the federation's "youtube" channel, creating a database covering chess players and coaches, and completing the certification process for coaches.
It was emphasized that it is important to review the provisions of the regulatory framework together with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Science and Education, and bring them up to modern requirements.
Federation President Mahir Mammadov said that meetings with coaches will become a tradition. He gave relevant instructions regarding the solution of the voiced problems.
