The ChatGPT chatbot lost a chess game to Norwegian grandmaster Magnus Carlsen.
Idman.biz reports that the world champion shared this on the X social network.
He emphasized that he did not lose any pieces during the game.
After the match, Magnus asked the chatbot to rate his game. The artificial intelligence highly praised the chess player's tactics but mistakenly assumed that his rating was 1800-2000 according to FIDE or USCF. In fact, Carlsen's rating is 2839.
The assessment was met with ridicule in the chess community. Users jokingly said that 1800 is an "impressive result" for a five-time world champion.
It should be noted that Carlsen was previously defeated by young Indian grandmaster Gukesh Dommaraju in the Norwegian chess tournament.
