The Azerbaijani women's chess team lost to Uzbekistan in the match for a ticket to the World Championship, which will be held in Linares, Spain from November 18–23.
Idman.Biz reports that Gulnar Mammadova, Govhar Beydullayeva, Gunay Mammadzada, Khanim Balajayeva and Ulviyya Fataliyeva played in the team.
Although our team won the third round with a score of 3:1, the fourth match ended in a draw. According to the overall result, Uzbekistan was superior. The opponent, who won with a score of 2.5:1.5 (8.5:7.5 in games), obtained the only ticket to the World Championship.
The Uzbekistan national team had already won both of the two starting rounds it played yesterday, and this played a decisive role in the final success.
It should be noted that the World Championship will be attended by teams from Spain, Georgia, France, Kazakhstan, USA, China, Ukraine, Peru, Egypt, India and FIDE.
