Yoel Romero, a Cuban silver medalist in freestyle wrestling at the Sydney Olympics and former UFC middleweight title contender, will fight Russian Vahab Vahabov, former AMC Fight Nights light heavyweight champion, in a bare-knuckle fight.
İdman.Biz reports that the fight will take place within the "IBA Bare Knuckle" framework.
Romero and Vahabov have already had their first face-off before the fight.
As a reminder, in his last MMA fight on February 24, 2024, at the PFL vs. Bellator tournament, Romero defeated Brazilian Thiago Santos by unanimous decision. The "Soldier of God" has an MMA record of 16 wins and seven losses.
Vahabov's last fight was in 2021 at the AMC Fight Nights tournament. He defeated Hassan Yusifi by knockout in the third round. Vahab won the promotion's light heavyweight title. The Russian has a record of 29 wins, one loss, and one draw in MMA.
