The XXXIII National Shotokan Karate Championship was held with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, organized and led by the Azerbaijan Karate Federation.
"Report" reports with reference to the press service of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation that about 400 athletes from Baku, Sumgayit, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Ganja, Shirvan, Gazakh, Shaki, Ujar, Lankaran, Salyan and other regions tested their strength in the competition held at the Absheron Olympic Sports Complex.
About 30 clubs from different regions of the republic participated in the championship.
The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played at the opening ceremony, and the dear memory of our martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence. Elchin Mehdizade, a member of the board of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation, head of the Shotokan Karate style, Vusal Abdullazade, assistant to the president of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation, well-known representatives of the sports community, coaches, judges, athletes and sports fans participated in the event.
It should be noted that the "Garagaplan" Sports Club took the first place in the team score, the "Arpachay" Karate Club took the second place, and the MES - "Budokan" Sports Club took the third place.
