Merab Dvalishvili, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bantamweight (up to 61 kg) champion, announced that he received a "Mercedes" car as a gift after his victory over American Cory Sandhagen.
Idman.Biz reports that Dvalishvili said this while being a guest on "The Ariel Helwani Show" podcast.
The fight took place on October 5 at the "UFC 320" tournament held in Las Vegas, USA.
"My sponsor "Aviator" (computer game - ed.) supports many athletes in the UFC. It is also an official sponsor of the UFC. I don't know if you've seen it, they gave me a great "Mercedes" "G63 Wagon". It's a perfect gift... Yes, this is a gift given after my fight," he said.
Merab Dvalishvili also spoke about the possibility of the UFC leadership holding fights in his homeland, Georgia: "My sponsor is already in talks with the UFC leadership and the Minister of Sports of Georgia regarding this issue. They are working to bring the tournament to Georgia. I hope it will happen. I am currently the champion and plan to defend this title, but I don't think I can fight in Georgia. Anyway, it would be great."
