Islam Makhachev defeated his opponent Jack Della Maddalena by unanimous decision in the main fight of UFC 322 held in New York, winning the UFC welterweight title.
Idman.Biz reports that Dana White, commenting on the victory, stated that Makhachev is already advancing as one of the greatest fighters in UFC history.
White noted that although the fight was not the most visually bright match, Makhachev's complete dominant performance is impressive.
"It wasn't the brightest fight you'll see, but let me tell you one thing: there was complete domination. Depending on what we do next and how things develop, this guy is moving into the discussion about the greatest fighter of all time," White emphasized at the press conference.
Currently, Makhachev's professional record is 22 wins, 1 loss, and his only defeat dates back to 2015. This victory further strengthened the Russian athlete's position as one of the strongest UFC fighters and expanded his upcoming title opportunities.
