UFC welterweight champion Islam Makhachev has spoken about the timing of his next fight.
Idman.Biz reports that the Russian fighter has said he plans to return to the octagon in August.
"I know that my next fight will be in August. I am not 100 percent sure who the opponent will be. I am not in bad shape anymore," Makhachev said.
The 34-year-old athlete has not lost in 16 fights in the UFC. He has 28 wins and one loss in his professional career.
Makhachev last fought against Australian Jack Della Maddalena at the UFC 322 tournament in New York. The fight for the welterweight championship belt ended with the Russian fighter's victory by unanimous decision of the judges.
It should be noted that after that victory, Makhachev joined the list of fighters who won championships in two weight categories in the UFC.
