An Azerbaijani representative has won a medal at the European Karate Championship held in Frankfurt, Germany.
Idman.Biz reports that Iryna Zaretska, silver medalist of the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics, world and European champion, distinguished herself.
Iryna faced Maria Nieto (Spain), the finalist of the previous European Championship, in the bronze medal match.
Zaretska won against her opponent with a score of 6:1 and won bronze medals.
Our other representative, Gulay Orucova, lost to Bosnian Emina Sipovic 4:0 in the bronze medal match.
Our karateka Aslan Dostuyev also lost to Montenegrin Balsa Vojinović in the fight for third place – 2:7.
