The opening ceremony of the traditional Great Silk Road international tournament among men's and women's boxers was held in Baku.
The event began with a parade of participating teams.
Then, Samir Huseynov, Advisor to the President of the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation (ABF), spoke about the importance of the competition and said that strong teams are participating in the tournament.
Then, Svetoslav Sapoundjiyev, the Bulgarian supervisor of the competition, expressed his gratitude to the Organizing Committee and wished the participants success.
After the National Anthem was played, the tournament was declared open.

The "Great Silk Road" international boxing tournament has started in Baku. 43 athletes represent our country in the tournament.
Idman.Biz reports that the national teams of Australia, Algeria, Bulgaria, Georgia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Turkey and Uzbekistan are competing in the traditional competition held at the Baku Boxing Center, along with Azerbaijan.
A total of 126 boxers are testing their strength in the tournament for 14 sets of medals (10 men's, 4 women's weight categories). The Azerbaijani team is represented by 37 athletes in the men's competition and 6 athletes in the women's competition.
The winners of the tournament will be determined on April 7.
It should be noted that Svetoslav Sapounciyev from Bulgaria is supervising the competition as a supervisor, and Anar Babanli from Azerbaijan is supervising as the head judge. The meetings are managed by judges from Algeria, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Turkey and Uzbekistan, along with Azerbaijan.
