The Azerbaijani national kickboxing team has attracted attention with its successful performance at the World Cup held in Antalya, Turkey.
Idman.Biz reports that Azerbaijan was represented by 44 athletes in the competition organized among all age groups. In the tournament, in which 2353 athletes from 43 countries competed, our team won nine gold, ten silver and 13 bronze medals.
As part of the Azerbaijani national team, Fuad Zeynalov rose to the highest step of the podium in two versions in the 94 kg weight category. He won gold medals in "Kick Light" and "Light Contact".
Sabir Mirzayev won a gold medal in "Kick Light" at 52 kg, Hasan Mammadov in "Low Kick" at 42 kg, Aylin Huseynzade in "Low Kick" at 44 kg, Mubariz Samadov in "Kick Light" at 69+ kg, Samir Aliyev in "Low Kick" at 51 kg, Ughur Aliyev in K1 at 71 kg, Ali Jabbarzade in "Low Kick" at 60 kg and Muhammad Imanov in "Low Kick" at 60 kg.
Nuran Guluzade won silver medals in "Kick Light" at 47 kg, Yusif Mirzazade in "Low Kick" at 42 kg, Farid Humbatov in "Kick Light" at 52 kg, Aydan Valizade in "Low Kick" at 48 kg, Tamerlan Mammadli in K1 at 81 kg, Ali Asgarli in "Light Contact" at 52 kg, Yusif Mammadov in "Low Kick" at 57 kg, Farhad Taghizade in "Full Contact" at 54 kg, Vusal Gurbanov in "Low Kick" at 54 kg and Hasan Shabandiyev in "Low Kick" at 91 kg.
The athletes who won bronze medals were Sanam Mammadli in K1 at 44 kg, Raul Garayev in K1 at 57 kg, Muhammad Aliyev in "Full Contact" at 54 kg, Ali Garayev in "Kick Light" at 69 kg, Idris Ismayilov in "Low Kick" at 57 kg, Elchin Murshudov in "Low Kick" at 60 kg, Nazrin Gasimova in K1 at 60 kg, Yusif Nabiyev in "Kick Light" at 47 kg, Turan Abdullazade in "Kick Light" at 47 kg, Amal Eyyubov in "Low Kick" at 71 kg, Emil Tahirov in "Kick Light" at 94 kg and Nuran Guluzade in "Light Contact" at 47 kg.
The Azerbaijani team also received an individual award at the tournament. Fuad Zeynalov was awarded the title of "Best Master" by Salim Kayici, President of the Turkish Kickboxing Federation and Vice President of the World Kickboxing Federation.
