The traditional 34th Ahmet Comert International Boxing Tournament will start on March 30 in Istanbul, Turkey.
Idman.Biz reports that this prestigious competition, which will last until April 5, will be held in the "Complex Istanbul" sports hall in the Bagcilar district.
Azerbaijani athletes will also test their strength in the seven-day competition. The following boxers will enter the ring under the leadership of coaches Ayaz Bakhshiyev and Elnur Karimli:
Ucal Musayev (50 kg)
Elbrus Karimli (60 kg)
Jalal Gurbanov (65 kg)
Vugar Mamedov (70 kg).
Azerbaijani referees will also be among the representatives of justice in the competition. Yasaf Guliyev and Shaban Shahpalangov will represent our country as referees in the tournament. Our team went to Istanbul under the leadership of Naghi Safarov, the Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation.
It should be noted that this tournament, which has been restored after a six-year break and is organized by the Turkish Boxing Federation, is expected to be attended by about 350 athletes from more than 15 countries, including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Australia, Ireland, Germany, Serbia, Romania, Croatia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Tajikistan and Ukraine.
