Australian boxer Jay Opetaia has filed a claim against the International Boxing Federation (IBF).
Sport.Biz reports that the 31-year-old athlete is demanding the return of the IBF championship belt.
The claim alleges that the IBF, WBA, WBC, WBO, and promoter Eddie Hearn conspired to punish Opetaia for signing a contract with "Zuffa Boxing". The IBF also continued to collect money from Opetaia to sanction his fight against Brandon Glanton and refused to return the revenue after stripping him of his title.
Opetaia is seeking reinstatement as IBF heavyweight champion, damages, payment of attorney's fees, and all legal expenses.
