The jersey worn in Game 3 of the 1998 NBA Finals, where the Chicago Bulls faced the Utah Jazz, was bought for $12.26 million. With this, Jordan's jersey became the highest‑priced game jersey ever sold in basketball history.
Previously, the record also belonged to Michael Jordan. The legendary player’s jersey from Game 1 of that Finals series was sold at a Sotheby’s auction in 2022 for $10.09 million.
In the 1998 Finals, Jordan won his sixth and final NBA championship with the Chicago Bulls. This achievement is considered one of the most memorable periods of his career.
