"Ganja" head coach Halil Atli is satisfied with the performance and results of his team in the current season of the Azerbaijan Basketball League. Sport24.az reports that the Turkish specialist said this in a statement to the club's press service after the match with "Sabah", which they lost in the semi-finals.
The coach highly appreciated his team's fight:
"I thank my basketball players for the fight, they played well. We also brought the game to points where we could win. But for reasons I don't want to say now, we couldn't change the outcome in our favor. As for the overall season, I am proud of my basketball players. Despite the fact that we had very little preparation before the season, we always tried to improve our team. We also saw the result of this. We won the Azerbaijan Cup for the second time, we reached the semi-finals of the championship. That's why I'm happy. But the team's achievements did not receive enough attention from the basketball community, so I'm sad. We were the ones who gave local basketball players the most opportunity to play in the championship. I am grateful to the fans, everyone should be happy".
It should be noted that "Sabah" defeated "Ganja" in the semi-finals with the result of two games (96:67, 78:73) and qualified for the final.
