A minibus carrying members of the "Bionord Pro" basketball team, representing the Perm region of Russia, was involved in a serious road accident in the Chelyabinsk region.
İdman.Biz reports that the incident occurred on the Ural federal highway. According to preliminary information, a Mercedes Benz minibus veered into the oncoming lane and collided with a Gazelle cargo-passenger vehicle.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the minibus carrying the team died at the scene. Five people are reported to have been injured. Three of them are members of the Perm basketball team who were in the Mercedes Benz.

The Governor of the Perm region, Dmitry Makhonin, said that the athletes were returning from a 3x3 basketball competition. One of the people accompanying the team underwent surgery at the Zlatoust hospital. Other players received medical assistance for bruises and minor injuries.
