Zaur Jafarov, the official representative of the World Powerlifting Congress (WPC) in Azerbaijan and an international-level referee, has been appointed as the chief referee for the WPC/AWPC European Championship to be held in Ireland.
Idman.Biz reports with reference to AZERTAC that the competition will be held from June 1 to 6 in Limerick, Ireland.
Zaur Jafarov will officiate the most crucial matches of the continental championship from June 1 to 5. On June 6, he will replace his refereeing activities with a performance as an athlete, representing Azerbaijan at the European Championship and competing for medals.
Two more athletes will represent our country in the prestigious tournament as part of the WPC Azerbaijan team. Elmir Tarverdiyev will compete in the deadlift in the AWPC version, and Orkhan Farzaliyev will compete in classic raw powerlifting.
