Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler Sabukhi Amiraslanov, who won a silver medal at the U-23 European Championship held in Zrenjanin, Serbia, will set a goal of becoming a champion in the next competitions.
He evaluated his path to the final and the preparation process.
"The matches were not so easy on the way I started from the 1/8 finals. Nevertheless, I was able to make it to the final. I thank the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation and our coaches for creating all conditions for us. Thanks to the effective training camp we had in Asia, I managed to reach the final. In the final, it seems to me that I should have increased a little more. I have to strengthen my training and set a championship goal for myself," he said in a statement to report.az.
S.Amiraslanov shared his thoughts about his opponent in the decisive match and the reason for the defeat:
"My most difficult match was in the final. In fact, I had faced the Russian opponent before during training camps and I didn't have much difficulty. But this time, for some reason, I couldn't tune in. I believe I will perform better next time."
He highly appreciated the chances of the team in the tournament:
"I think all our athletes are capable of winning medals. Our potential allows it. I believe we will show everything on the mat."
