It was reported that the members of our national team - Anna Bashta, Sabina Karimova, Palina Kaspiarovich, and Zarifa Huseynova - took sixth place among 24 countries.
Our team started the tournament with a 45:27 victory over Colombia. Then, in the 1/8 final stage, they defeated the Japanese team with a score of 45:39 and advanced to the top eight.
On the way to the bronze medal fight, the Azerbaijani team faced Poland for a spot in the semi-finals. In a tense match, the opponent won with a score of 45:44.
In the matches for 5th-8th places, our team defeated the Republic of Korea with a score of 45:41, but lost to the Italian team with a score of 42:45.
Thus, the Azerbaijani team finished the World Cup in sixth place.
