Azerbaijan's U15 national freestyle wrestling team has successfully completed the European Championship held in Samokov, Bulgaria.
Idman.Biz reports that our team, led by head coach Namig Guliyev, coaches Elshad Allahverdiyev, Khagan Suleymanov, and Emin Azizov, won six medals at the continental championship.
Our team finished the competition with two gold, two silver, and two bronze medals. The Azerbaijani national team scored 122 points and took third place in the team standings after Russia (167) and Georgia (165).
Our team was second only to Russia in terms of the quality of the medals.
Yusif Abdullayev (38 kg) and Elvin Najafzade (85 kg) became European champions in the Azerbaijani team. Elman Ismayilov (41 kg) and Adem Guliyev (52 kg) won silver medals.
Mahammad Karimov (44 kg) and Yusif Huseynov (62 kg) won bronze medals.
It should be noted that the European Championship held in Samokov was remembered as one of the most successful tournaments for the Azerbaijani U15 freestyle wrestling team, both in terms of results and team performance.
