Freestyle wrestling competitions within the framework of the III CIS Games started today at the Ganja Olympic Sports Complex.
On the first day, competitions were held in the weight categories of 45 kg, 51 kg, 60 kg, 71 kg and 92 kg among boys, and 40 kg, 46 kg, 53 kg and 61 kg among girls.
7 out of 8 wrestlers representing Azerbaijan won medals. Nahid Abbasov (71 kg) became the champion. Hajihuseyn Ahmadzada (51 kg) and Rashid Nazarov (60 kg) won silver medals, while Huseyn Rzazade (45 kg), Nazrin Ahmadli (46 kg), Khadijakhanim Talibova (53 kg) and Amin Nasibov (92 kg) won bronze medals.
