The wrestling ranking tournament continues in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.
Idman.biz reports that the Greco-Roman wrestlers have started their performance in the last ranking competition of the year.
3 athletes of our team competed for medals. Two of them took a place on the honorary podium. Another wrestler, Hasrat Jafarov (72 kg), did not compete for the bronze medal due to injury.

Ruslan Nurullayev defeated Daniyar Kalenov of Kazakhstan with a score of 5:1, but lost to Yuri Lomadze of Georgia (0:10) in the 1/4 final. He defeated Juan Aaka of Norway 6:4 in the consolation match and wrestled Giorgi Chkhikvadze (Georgia) for the bronze medal. Our athlete won with a score of 9:0.
Our other representative in this weight, Hasrat Jafarov, defeated Serbian world champion Ali Arsalan (2:1) and Kazakh Merey Maulitkanov (5:3) and advanced to the semi-finals. Hasrat, who lost to Abdulla Aliyev of Uzbekistan with a score of 3:5, did not compete for the bronze medal due to injury.

Islam Abbasov, who surpassed Hungarian Istvan Takacs with a score of 3:1, advanced to the next stage in the 1/8 final because Dutchman Marcel Sterkenburg was injured. Abbasov, who defeated Norwegian Eksos Mukubuya based on the first point principle (1:1), lost to Hungarian David Losonczi in the semi-finals - 0:4. Islam's opponent for the bronze medal was Serbian Aleksandar Komarov. Abbasov won with a score of 5:2 and took 3rd place.

Beka Kandelaki defeated Korean Seungchan Lee with full advantage (9:0), but lost to Hungarian Dariusz Vittek in the 1/4 final based on the last point principle (3:3). Beka did not compete in the consolation match with Hungarian Koppani Laslo due to injury.
Sarkhan Mammadov, who is in the same weight category as him, defeated US wrestlers Aden Attao (9:0) and Kurtni Freeman (4:3) and advanced to the semi-finals. Sarkhan Mammadov, who lost to Hungarian Dariusz Vittek one step away from the final, will compete for 3rd place. He faced local athlete Koppani Laslo.
