"The score was one-one. In the last seconds, I didn't work a little until the end, there was a chance, but I didn't use it."
İdman.Biz reports from Albania that this was stated by Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler Arseniy Djioyev after winning a silver medal at the European Championship.
Earlier, in other tournaments, the athlete had already lost to his opponent in the final, Russian Ibrahim Kadiev. However, the wrestler noted the positive dynamics in their confrontation:
"He is a worthy opponent. Each time the meetings with him go better for me, progress is visible. Last time I lost to him by a large margin, but this time by a minimal margin. I will try to win next time."
Djioyev expressed his gratitude to the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, coaches and fans, and emphasized that in the future the team aims to win more gold awards.
"Great efforts are made not only by us, but also by our coaches, the federation, and all this is clearly not done for silver medals," the wrestler emphasized.
