Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestlers had an unsuccessful day at the wrestling ranking tournament held in Tirana, the capital of Albania.
Idman.Biz reports that Davud Mammadov (77 kg), Islam Abbasov (87 kg) and Lachin Valiyev (87 kg) stopped fighting for medals, losing in the early stages.
Although D. Mammadov won in the starting match, he lost in the 1/8 finals to Serbian Aleks Ilic with a score of 5:5, as the opponent scored the last point. Islam Abbasov lost to Islam Aliyev, who competed under the flag of the World Wrestling Union (UWW), with a score of 1:3, and Lachin Valiyev lost his first match to Alan Ostaev (UWW) with a score of 1:5.
It should be reminded that earlier, Azerbaijani freestyle wrestlers won four medals at the tournament. Rashid Babazade (65 kg) won a silver award, while Islam Bazarganov (57 kg), Jabrail Hajiyev (79 kg) and Arseniy Cioyev (86 kg) won bronze medals.

Mammadov defeated Merey Maulitkanov, a representative of Kazakhstan, in the starting match, and Abbasov defeated another Kazakh Islam Yevloyev.
In addition, Lachin Valiyev (87 kg) will hold his first match against Alan Ostaev (UWW).
