Secretary General: "Necessary measures are being taken to increase the number of clubs participating in the Volleyball Premier League" - INTERVIEW

Interview of Faig Orujov, Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation, to AZERTAC:

- Will the number of teams increase in the new season? The "DH Volley Baku" club has already been created. How many more teams are expected to debut in men's and women's competitions?

- Increasing the number of clubs participating in the Premier League makes the championship more attractive. In this regard, appropriate work is being done to increase the number of teams. The participation of the women's team "DH Volley Baku" in the championship has already been formalized. Announcements regarding the number of teams participating in the new season and other issues will be presented to the public in the near future.

- Which teams will represent Azerbaijan in the men's and women's Eurocups next year? Specifically, which clubs have refused to play in Europe?

- As you know, teams can apply to the federation for participation in the Eurocups until mid-June. Currently, we have not received any applications from clubs regarding this.

- Farid Jalalov, the current head coach of the men's national team, has become the head coach of the newly created "DH Volley Baku" club. Will he continue his work in the national team as well?

- The men's national volleyball team will compete in the European Silver League this year. Our national team has already started preparing for the competition under the leadership of Farid Jalalov.

- The women's team is looking forward to the European Golden League, and the men's team to the European Silver League…

- As I mentioned, both the men's and women's national teams have started preparations for both tournaments. Young and promising players have also been involved in the training. It is also planned to hold test matches as part of the preparation.

- What can the Azerbaijani national teams hope for in these tournaments?

- Of course, the goal of the national teams is to perform well in the competition, qualify for the next stages and represent our country properly. We wish both national teams success.
