Nihad Gasimov, the libero of the Azerbaijan national men's volleyball team, shared his thoughts on the preparation process for the European League and the upcoming opponents.
Idman.Biz reports that our national team is continuing its training camp, which started in Baku, in Belarus. In addition to training, the team will also play several test matches here.
Nihad Gasimov said that they will also hold test matches in Turkey. He said that the opponents in the European League are quite strong, and they will first meet with the Swedish and Greek national teams, which have strong squads:
"In the second round in Romania, our opponents will be the host and Spain. In particular, the Spanish national team consists of experienced players, including players who play in the Italian championship.
Later, we will face Hungary and Portugal in Baku. It is always great to play in Baku, on our home field, with our fans. We also faced Hungary in Baku last year, and it was a very interesting game. This year, we will try to show a good game and achieve successful results as much as we can."
The libero of our national team also stated that the atmosphere in the team is good:
"The atmosphere in the team is good, this year we have younger players in the squad. They made a good impression in the national championship, and they show themselves well in training. I think being on the same field with such dynamic and energetic players will have a very good effect on the team. Participating in international competitions gives us great experience.
