Boris Grebennikov, the head coach of the Azerbaijan men's national volleyball team, spoke about the preparation process for the European League.
Idman.Biz reports that the specialist stated that the team's preparation is proceeding according to plan.
"We started the preparation process on May 4. A total of 17 athletes have been involved in the training camp. Four of them are 17-year-old young volleyball players. I would especially like to note that these players have great potential and are promising for the future," said Grebennikov.
The head coach said that the first stage of preparation will be held in Baku. Initially, the main focus was on physical preparation, and then ball and tactical training began:
"The preparation process is proceeding according to plan. According to the program, we will go to Belarus on May 22 for the next stage of preparation. There, along with the training camp, we will also hold several test matches. These meetings are extremely important in terms of assessing the team's current situation.
We will start the European League on June 6 in Sweden. In the first stage, our rivals will be the Swedish and Greek national teams. Our goal is to show a good game, to become even more formed as a team and to start the tournament with successful results."
