American tennis player Venus Williams has lost her 10th consecutive singles match at the WTA level in the 2026 season.
Sports.Biz reports that the 46-year-old athlete faced Uzbekistan's Kamilla Rakhimova in the first round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Toronto, Canada.
Rakhimova, ranked 82nd in the world, won the match 6-4, 6-1, giving Williams her 10th consecutive loss in singles matches in 2026.
Venus Williams, a seven-time Grand Slam champion, last won on July 22, 2025, at the WTA 500 tournament in Washington, where she defeated compatriot Peyton Stearns 6-3, 6-4.
The Toronto tournament will take place from August 2-13. The defending champion is Canadian Victoria Mboko, who will not defend her title due to a knee injury.
