The European Sumo Championship held in Szigetszentmiklós, Hungary, has concluded.
Idman.biz reports that on the final day of the competition, Azerbaijani athletes competed in the dohyo in 4 weight categories.
Chingiz Samadov, competing in the senior category, won a bronze medal. Our athlete, testing his strength in the 100 kg weight category, won a silver medal at the continental championship held last year in Loutraki, Greece.
It should be noted that 4 sumo wrestlers represented our country at the European Championship under the leadership of the Japanese Martial Arts and Culture Association. Rasul Mammadzadeh, who previously competed in the U-23 category, rose to the second step of the podium at the continental championship organized for the U-21, U-23, and senior categories.
